Kenya: Phone Firms Sign Pact On Blackberry Services - AllAfrica.com

Local mobile telephone service suppliers have got signed new understandings with French telephone shapers for the broadening of the scope of devices accessing blackberry services.

This could led to a rush in subscription.

Through the deal, service suppliers said, consumers will access blackberry services on ordinary trade names such as as as Motorola and Nokia.

Mr Michael Joseph, Safaricom CEO, said demand for Blackberry French telephones have been rising steadily, pointing out that the charge per unit of take-up is expected to lift as the service attains a wider client base.

Blackberrys are radio hand-held devices that support e-mail, mobile telephony, textual matter messaging, Internet faxing, and web browsing among other services.

Developed by RIM, the Canadian engineering company, the Blackberry presents information through radio information webs of mobile telephone service companies such as Safaricom and Celtel.
